How do you make sure my dog is a good fit for pack playtime?
Your dog’s first day with the pack is always treated as a gentle trial run. I know every dog is unique, so I take extra care to make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and included.
During that first session, I watch closely for how your dog:
Feels in the space – Are they relaxed, curious, or a little nervous?
Connects with others – Do they enjoy saying hello, playing, or do they prefer a little space?
Manages energy and excitement – Making sure their play style is fun and positive for them and the group.
Body language – Watching for signs of comfort, curiosity, playfulness, or stress.
Social interactions – Noting how your dog greets, plays, and responds to other pack members.
Energy levels – Ensuring their play style matches the group’s pace (whether gentle, moderate, or high-energy).
Boundaries – Observing how they handle sharing toys, space, and my attention.
My goal is never to push a dog into something they’re not ready for, but to help them build confidence at their own pace. If your pup seems happiest with quieter play or one-on-one time, I’ll always share that with you and suggest what will make them feel their best.
What vaccinations are required for playtime?
Before a dog is safe for socialization, they typically need to be fully vaccinated against
Adenovirus (Canine Hepatitis), Parainfluenza, and Parvovirus. A separate vaccine that protects against the rabies virus and is legally required in most places. Please discuss details of socializing your new puppy with your vet. Please consult your veterinarian about non-core vaccines, such as those for Bordetella (Kennel Cough), Leptospirosis, Lyme disease and Canine Influenza.
